Flashes Game Notes

Old Dominion 0-2 vs Charlotte 1-1

The Old Dominion QB shuffle of Steven Williams and Blake LaRussa seems like it’s here to stay. At least for now it is.  Charlotte also has a QB tandem so this should turn out to be interesting.

Charlotte is led by Freshman QB Chris Reynolds and Junior RB Benny LeMay. Junior DB Ben DeLuca is the 49ers leader on defense.

Old Dominion RB Kesean Strong is out with a hamstring injury. RB Jeremy Cox has been asked to carry the load and he hasn’t been able to get it done.

Old Dominion averages 349 total yards per game. 237.5 via the air and 111 on the ground. The Monarchs are averaging 15 points per game.

Charlotte averages 346 total yards per game. 187.5 passing yards and 158 yards on the ground. Charlotte averages 21.5 points per game.

The Old Dominion defense is allowing 540 yards per game. 326.5 yards passing and 213.5 rushing yards. Monarchs opponents are averaging 40 points per game over the two games played this season.

Charlotte opponents are averaging 361 yards per game. 295.5 passing yards and just 65 rushing yards a game. The 49ers are allowing 27.5 points per game.

Charlotte is 5-2 against the spread (ATS) over their past seven games and 5-1 ATS in their last six home games. Old Dominion is 1-4 ATS in their past five conference games and 6-16-1 ATS in games after a loss.

Boston College vs Charlotte

Both teams are 2-0 as they enter this ACC battle…..both teams have had relatively easy games on their respective schedules and probably a good reason for some of the eye popping stats thus far this season.

Boston College leads their lifetime series 13-10-2.

The football game has been moved up so Hurricane Florence should have little to no effect on this game. It might be a bit windy but they should be able to play this football game Thursday.

Wake Forest Freshman QB Sam Hartman has thrown for 628 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. He faces a Boston College pass defense allowing just 158 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions.

Eagles Sophomore QB Anthony Brown has thrown for 322 yards, four touchdowns and ZERO interceptions. The numbers would probably be higher but Brown only played one quarter against Holy Cross. He faces a Wake Forrest team allowing 313 passing yards per game, five touchdowns and one interception.

Boston College is averaging a whopping 313 rushing yards per game. Sophomore RB A.J. Dillon leads the way with 247 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He’s also been on the receiving end of two TD’s. Freshman RB David Bailey also sees some snaps and has 104 rushing yards and one TD. The Wake Forest defense has allowed 110 rushing yards a game and zeros TD’s.

Wake Forest averages 247 yards per game Junior RB Cade Carney and his 184 total rushing yards and three TD’s. The Boston College rushing defense allows 97 yards per game and has allowed two touchdowns this season.

Boston College has had two punts blocked this season.

Everything you could possibly want to know about this game can be found in this extensive preview I found Wednesday.

I also found this GEM from the Tennessee Tech site.
